VELVIT are the product of a love for hard hitting rock and the need to rave! Made up of 4 friends drawn to the sunny banks of Leeds. Their unique blend of mosh and dance creates a spectacle you do not want to miss. The band share influences from a range of genres from Alternative Rock to 90’s Rave. Gaining inspiration from Leeds' vast underground dance scene and their love for classic rock legends such as Audioslave and Pink Floyd. "All round musical powerhouse…..their performance is a high-powered frenzy of excitement and I never wanted it to end" – Fiction is Not Imagination The band is made up of Harry, Tom, Chris and Josh who met whilst studying at Leeds College of Music, after each individually deciding there was nothing else for them. They have been playing music together for the past 4 years with various versions of the band playing up and down the country. In this time they opened for chart placing bands such as Glass Caves, headlining Merrion St Festival and playing a sold out night in their home town of Leeds. When the final four first got together they knew they could create something fun, refreshing and unique, combining basement beats with arena ready riffs; VELVIT was born. VELVIT recorded their Debut single “DIG” back in December 2017 at The Chairworks studio in Castleford, working with renowned producer David Watts (Kaiser Chiefs, The Fall, Allusondrugs). The single is OUT NOW on all music platforms!! Following to the release the band played a triumphant sold out show at Leeds' prestigious venue Headrow House. Their admiration to the work ethic from bands like Slaves, Royal Blood and Hinds has further fed their motivation to succeed. Now Leeds Emerging finalists hoping to play Reading and Leeds Festival 2018, they are looking to expand their following playing gigs and festivals up and down the country, touring as far as the eye can see.
