The Event

Don Coyote, a play on the name of the foolish Spanish nobleman, are a three-piece indie-rock band from Newcastle. They met when teaching together in the North East, and quickly discovered their music taste and style was very similar. In 2020 they released their first singles, Fresh Start and Fall of Hyperion, followed by their debut EP ‘Don Quixote’s Tinder Profile’ in 2021. Their tracks have received widespread acclaim and seen regular spins on BBC Radio Newcastle, Nova Radio, and Indie Rocks, and were one of BBC Introducing in the North East’s Tips for 2021. They have been gigging in the North East and London to an ever-growing audience, with a sound that is best described as a bit jazzy, a bit rocky, and one that will certainly get you grooving. Each live set is different, with the band being keen on improvising their lines during performances.

Charlie and Sam met when teaching together in Newcastle, and quickly discovered their music taste and style was very similar. The band has been performing since 2019, and from the beginning knew they were a perfect fit. They have been gigging in the North East and London and releasing a number of singles and an EP. Their sound is a bit jazzy, a bit rocky, and will certainly get you grooving. Their live set is a raucous, sweaty and bouncy affair.

The venue

The Workshop is a little gem of a discovery underneath The Star in Shoreditch right by Old Street Tube Station. It has an underground hacienda feel and provides a perfect space for intimate showcases and gigs.

Its relaxed Rock ‘n’ Roll bar, cocktail feel gives it a great vibe to watch some live music, catch your favourite DJ, pick a tune from the jukebox or just chill out on their huge south-facing terrace.

This a great place to people-watch or meet your mates as they enter or leave Shoreditch and see some of the best bands in London.
