A musician’s artwork acts as the first mark of value for their music and creates an initial impression of the music’s message, genre, and more. With the decline in sales of physical mediums of music and the rise of streaming, we think it’s important to acknowledge the beauty of cover art so that artistry of it is not lost in the changing industry.

Today’s ‘Art Appreciation’ is ‘alien’ by Jen Ella

Jen Ella is a singer songwriter from Cork and based in London. She infuses her indie roots in her melodic songs based on all aspects of her life. Her previous tracks Lipstick Queen and eyes for you were featured on BBC introducing along with Lipstick Queen being Hot press magazines track of the week. Her recent track Alien went on to feature in Hot press magazine which highlighted her as “one to watch in 2022”. She had previously played festivals such as Celtic connections, south side fringe and played across many venues in the UK and Ireland where in Cork she sold out her show in Ballinadee Bus. She is currently working on her second EP due to be released this year.
