Today’s Featured Artist Of The Day is April Tapes

April Tapes are a DIY alternative band with dual male-female lead vocals from Chesterfield and Sheffield. The quartet (Bethan Evans, Max Stokes, Angus (Goose) Marnoch, and Henry Wright) blend influences from lo-fi indie, with a more melodic, slightly Americana-leaning sound.

Since forming they have self recorded all of their music in bedrooms, living rooms and “Hitsville Chesterfield” (Henry’s house) and brand their style ‘Derbyshire DIY’

The band’s name came from a folder on Max’s computer containing song demos from April 2022 titled ‘April tapes’. Those early demos later evolved into the band’s first two singles.
