This weekend we have East of Meon taking to the stage AT ACKLAM

Versatile quartet playing cool jazz/ latin through high energy funk.

Former saxophonist with “Soul Funks” and  salsa band “Los Domingos”  Kati Whitaker now works with Flavio Lignini’s “Morley Big band” through whom she worked with Bill Laurence of “Snarky Puppy”.Among his many bands, pianist/composer Marcus Hills helped found “Funk Ambassadors” with Ex. James Brown trumpeter Haji Akbar, legendary jazz drummer Clifford Jarvis and Freak Power trombonist Ashley Slater.Latin percussionist Nigel Hosking helped found “Los Domingos” and salsa band “Havana Good Time”.Bass player David Theriault worked extensively as a session musician in Canada before moving to the UK where he plays jazz and soul.
