Today’s Daily Discovery is Tell Me Where You Come From by NOMAD X
Nomad X is the dynamic duo of Matt Parks and Alazar Kidanu, whose shared experience of growing up across different continents shaped their sound and identity. Formed in 2022 as part of a London collective, Nomad X embodies a “nomadic mentality”—the idea of making anywhere in the world home by embracing connections in the present moment. Their music fuses soulful energy reminiscent of Michael Jackson with rich shades of The Rolling Stones and 60s rock, all while drawing deep influence from their cultural roots and idols like Teddy Afro and Burna Boy. Their debut single, “Man On A Boat,” featured in the documentary Beyond The Beach: The Hell And The Hope, idyllically showcases their ability to weave deeply emotional themes throughout music. The pop pair also made waves with their soundtrack for Amazon’s Black History Month campaign, cementing their reputation for capturing powerful stories through catchy, energetic melodies. With their debut album on the horizon, the duo is set to bring their soulful, globally-inspired sound to new heights.
