Daily Discovery brings you the latest in new music. These gems have been handpicked from the vast array of talented artists we have at our disposal.

Today’s Daily Discovery is Ghost in the Machine by The Long Highway

The Long Highway fuse contemporary, electrifying alternative rock with beautifully melodic, catchy as hell hooks. Add some synths, some punk, hip-hop and blues and that will only just start to describe their sound, led by hauntingly powerful lead vocals that captivate any audience they play too.

Now let us introduce you to the band..

Shak:

Front man, songwriter, actor and clumsy as hell!!

Shak’s eclectic love of music has helped formulate The Long Highway’s unique sound. When he’s not on stage with the band, he’s usually onstage in a play. (Or more recently starring in two huge network tv shows)

Dickie:

His love of all things rock helping to hone some catchy riffs and his amp permanently stuck on 11 theres no missing the long highways lead guitarist anywhere!

Jay:

Jay the super chilled yogi that turns into a passionate explosion of energy on stage. Look out for the barefoot bassist!

K-Loe:

K-loe is a the versatile keys/synth/keytarist/backing vocalists. So, very versatile. He is also known as the jukebox of bunch, yet he’s never auditioned for “Never Mind The Buszzcocks” Maybe he is beyond such shows?

Ben:

The new addition to the band. As well as being the heart beat, groove and time keeper of The Long Highway, Ben’s duty, being the best looking in the band, carry’s on further to ensure Dickie, K, Jay and Shak are all looking crisp and sharp. The other 4 aren’t so sure!

WANT TO HEAR MORE? The Long Highway is taking part in ‘Live From Cargo Rooms’, our brand-new innovative and progressive live-stream project designed to support and shine a spotlight on grassroots artists during a time of unprecedented restrictions on culture and live events.

The live industry has been decimated by Coronavirus, and the livelihoods of many musicians, venues, promoters, agents, managers, sound engineers, videographers and stage reps hang in the balance. Many of these individuals are freelancers, self-employed, or sustain themselves project-to-project, or gig-by-gig.

The shows are free to watch, but we’re also giving you the opportunity to contribute to a personal crowdfunder, specific to each act performing as part of the Live From Cargo Rooms series, in order to keep these musicians and the creatives behind the series afloat until a time where the music scene can return to some form of normality.

We know that times are tough for everyone, which is why you will receive something in return for every donation, no matter how large or small.

This could be tickets to future events, merchandise, exclusive access to new releases, handwritten lyric sheets, limited edition poster prints and much, much more.

Every single donation comes with a reward to thank you for investing in the future of live music.

Tune in to see The Long Highway streaming live on Monday 27th July at 8.00pm HERE
