The last few years has brought many things, including a rock resurgence. With their own twist, Redhanded are bringing back that nostalgic alternative rock feel. In 2015, 4 people came together to create their own unique alternative rock sound. They take influence from classic rock n’ roll, grunge, the blues and progressive metal to produce their own creative and authentic genre.

What began as a weekend hobby – that mainly included playing 90s rock covers – has developed into a band that is full of energy and writes raw tracks encompassing a multitude of styles. Their musical style seems to fuse catchy lyrics and melodies, with electric guitar riffs and pulsing drumbeats. These features with the amazing chemistry between band members make their music and performances really impressive.

Redhanded’s debut single titled ‘Exit’ was full of intrigue and energy. The soaring and raspy vocals blend flawlessly with the driving rhythm of the guitars and drums. You can actually feel vocalist Sohail Ajaz’s desperation in his vocal tone. It really makes the song come alive.

Since their first single, Redhanded have been busy. They released two more singles and earlier this year, a debut album. ‘Retrograde’ is the first album by Redhanded and it certainly delivers. The album remains true to the band’s influences, perfectly balancing the light and shade in their music. Electrifying guitar riffs and brooding vocals are seamlessly layered to complete their vision.

Although many of the tracks feature husky tones from the singer and distorted guitar, the album remains clean and crisp. Every melodic intonation and lyric are performed so that the strength of the instrumental doesn’t take away from the deepness of their music.

You can tell that Redhanded’s debut album is pushing the boundaries of their musical influence and own creativity. This is what makes their sound so authentic and entices people to listen. Even though this London based band has only recently released their album, they are making themselves known around the world through the publication of their music.
