Jenny Scoones

Everyone loves to say they were a fan of ‘insert artist name here’ before they were famous, right? Well, if that’s the case then ‘Heard it Hear First’, terrible pun aside, is your go to destination to discover your new favourite act and keep up to date with the latest and most exciting emerging artists currently on the scene.

Today you can say you heard ‘We Could’ve Danced All Night’ by Jenny Scoones!

Jenny Scoones is a trans singer-songwriter and poet based in London. Her music fuses a literary sensibility with a penchant for storytelling and aesthetics. Her artworks incorporate live shows, the written word, recorded music and video – a patchwork of self-expression in the tradition of her inspirations Madonna, Andy Warhol and the the Velvet Underground, and Lana Del Rey.

A writer first and foremost, her music blends vintage and contemporary pop sounds in its explorations of femininity and beauty, love and loss. She is Candy Darling for the 21st century, who worships Stevie Nicks and will snog your ex-boyfriend.
