SIGNING-UP

Performers can sign-up and reserve a slot in advance by clicking HERE. If a slot is reserved, performers must arrive at the venue by 7:30pm on the day to reconfirm their slot with the Host. Failure to do this will result in the slot being cancelled. Artists can also sign up on the night from 7:00pm. If there are no more spots available they can join a waiting list and if advance sign-ups haven’t arrived by 7:30pm then it’s first come first served. If there are still slots available when the event begins then sign-up will remain open throughout the event.

PERFORMANCE

Performers must be aged 18 or above. Artists will perform between one and five songs, depending on how long they want to play and the amount of sign-ups for the event. The venue provides PA, mic, mic stand and D.I box. Performers need to bring their own instruments and any relevant cables. The Host will inform performers how long they have to perform. The Host will film a short clip of each performance and add it to the Hot Vox Instagram story for voting purposes. The Open Mic can only accommodate solo or duos. No drum kits or percussion allowed.

VOTING

Voting is done by a simple ballot vote on the night during the event. Music fans and those in the room can collect a voting slip from the Host and will be asked to vote for their two favourite performers on the night. Fans can also add additional votes for any of the performers by ‘liking’ their performance on the Hot Vox Instagram story. Each vote for a performer received via a voting slip is worth 5 points. Each individual ‘like’ an artist gets on their performance video on the Hot Vox Instagram story is worth 1 point. In the event of a ‘tie’, the prize money will be equally split amongst the winners.

PRIZE

The performer with the most points at the end of the event will be announced on stage at the end of the night. This artist will receive £100 transferred to them via BACS. The artist must send an invoice totalling £100 to Hot Vox Entertainment and payment will be made within 30 days of Hot Vox Entertainment receiving the invoice.

OTHER

Hot Vox and O’Neill’s reserve the right to change the parameters of the event and competition, within reason, at any point. Hot Vox reserves the right to refuse any performer a performance slot at their own discretion. Performers can participate and perform at the open mic each week however, they can only claim the cash prize once per calendar month.
