Who is Abi Mia? Where are you from, how long have you been playing music etc? I am a singer-songwriter from London. I have always loved to sing but I have been pursuing music as a career since June 2020 when I started recording my first single!

If you had to describe your sound using just five words, what would they be? Powerful Piano Based Vocal Storytelling Pop

Who are your biggest influences musically? Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Adele, Demi Lovato, Alicia Keys, Elton John and so many more! I have been influenced by so many over the years and my style is very much a mixture!

What’s your songwriting process? I don’t have a specific structured process. Sometimes I start with a chord progression and melody. Other times with full lyrics or even just a song concept – wherever the inspiration starts from! I always write using my keyboard though at whatever stage of the process and then make sure to record the ideas or full songs as I go so I don’t forget them!

When you were younger, what was the first album that blew you away and you remember putting on repeat non-stop? ‘Breakaway’ – Kelly Clarkson

As a performer, what’s your biggest claim to fame so far? As someone who only started performing during the pandemic I haven’t really managed to build that momentum yet but there really is no feeling better than performing live! As an artist I recently reached number 1 on Uk Talk Radio Music Charts with my latest single ‘Can’t Stop Won’t Stop’ which was so rewarding!

If you could go on tour with any current band or artist, who would it be and why? Adele as I feel like my style of performance would compliment hers and a lot of her fans would appreciate my voice and music style! She also seems so down to earth and authentic with her music which is something I also strive for and I feel I could learn so much from being around her!

How would you describe your live show to someone who has never seen you perform before? A journey of different emotions and experiences that really brings you in through powerful vocals and beautiful piano melodies.

Do any of you have any pre-gig or post gig rituals? If so, what and why? I always make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep the vocal cords at their best! I also do 15 min vocal warm ups and practices scattered throughout the day to get my voice and mind ready without overdoing it before a show! After gigs I make notes of anything I felt needs more work and then just bask in the amazing feeling a live performance gives being able to connect with so many amazing people through my music!

What would your ultimate rider be if you could have anything without being accused of being a diva? A top quality digital piano, a soundproof room to do vocal warm ups in before the show, a kettle to make hot drinks and a full length mirror to ensure I look my best before heading out on stage! Apart from that nothing! I only need a stage and an audience and that is where the true fun is!

If we were to browse your music library what is the most embarrassing song we might find? Or who is your guilty pleasure artist? To be honest at the moment I don’t think I have one! I don’t have much time to listen to music but when I do it is usually specific to a project! I know a bit boring!!

Tell us one thing your fans would be really shocked or surprised to hear or learn about you – I used to participate in Olympic Weightlifting Competitions, I am small but I am very strong!

If people want to check you out online where is the best place to go? Instagram @abi__mia is my main platform! I am very active on there and share the most about my music journey on there! I also have a website Abi Mia – Artist/Songwriter which has the latest news and music!

Finally, What does the future hold for you as an artist? Who really knows what the future holds but I want to become a well respected full time performing and recording artist and singer-songwriter. I am throwing myself into it and will work my hardest until I get there!
