Who are RAREGOD COLLECTIVE? Where you’re from, how you met, how long have you been playing together etc

 The RAREGOD COLLECTIVE is a group of producers all based in UK, we met really organically through collaboration. The first two members were HPBLK & WANDER, who didn’t know at the time but were at the same Grandmaster Flash Show all the way back in 2007. Throughout the years HPBLK collabed with Phill Blanks, Eahwee and in turn met the rest of the group through link ups. The Collective really became official at the Audio Arcade album launch.

Who came up with the name and does it have a story or any meaning behind it?

 The name was HPBLK’s idea of substituting the words Alternative or Abstract for RARE combined with the idea of unifying people in an understanding there is always bigger than yourself.

If you had to describe the collective using just five words, what would they be?

 PLURALIST, UNRULY, SUBVERSIVE, FUNKY, RARE

Who are your biggest influences musically?

 J DILLA, DIBIA$E , RAS G, FLYING LOTUS. Pretty much the whole L.A Low End scene. 

What’s the projects biggest claim to fame so far?

We have achieved a lot individually, As a collective we are building an album that will really showcase our reach for 2022

If you could go on tour with any current band or artist, who would it be and why?

Would love to tour with a band link the Internet or the Roots, there is a lot in their DNA that we’d love to build in London 

If you could put your dream team collective together consisting of any musicians from the past or present who would the band members be?

Really we are the dream team, this is a special.

How would you describe your live show to someone who has never seen you perform before?

It’s a vibe you don’t get to hear, every member is 1 of 1

Do any of you have any pre-gig or post gig rituals? If so, what and why?

Not yet but got a feeling if there is one it will involve video games somehow

What would your ultimate rider be if you could have anything without being accused of being a diva?

Everyone will want different things. E.N.G will want top shelf Sake, KMY & HPBLK might want Pokemon Cards.

Video game soundtracks, no real guilt to be fair everyone would let the aux lead run with they chest out.
