Jimmy Valentine is a new solo project from London based songwriter Jamie Ley. After experimenting at home by tracking old show tunes with layers of synths and electronic drums, his new stage persona came to life: a fresh musical tribute to Hollywood’s golden age. His baritone vocals resemble 1950s entertainers such as Matt Dennis and The Rat Pack, reimagined with a modernised sound similar to Beach House or Perfume Genius. After his first single Summer Boy, he is now releasing “Back to LA” which is a nostalgic ballad that is popular in his live shows. His songs are his take on the performances of the great crooners before him,combined with the sub-cultures and identity expressions of today.
