Some tracks are so good that you can’t help but hit repeat again and again. We’re lucky enough to experience that feeling quite often with our talented roster, so we thought it would only be fair to share… Today’s TRACK OF THE DAY is Dearly Beloved by MASON! 

As far as Debut singles go, Dearly Beloved encapsulates the artistry that we expected and know from London based singer-songwriter Mason. Previously a founding member of smash hit duo Outline we knew we wouldn’t be disappointed with Mason’s craft but we are BLOWN AWAY!! Mason’s sound is best described as Dark-pop with and underlying essence of the influences from L Devine to Hot Vox legend Chinchilla! It is safe to say we will have this debut track on repeat in the office today and once you give it a listen we know you will too…!

The first track since MASON became a solo artist encapsulates so much of her sound, with its various shifts and switches, that it immediately lets her new audience know what she’s about. Forever inspired by artists like Billie Eilish – who showed her that alternative and experimental pop can be accessible – this track is dark, deep and bass-heavy, but still with a good beat and bright sound. MASON’s work tends to be lyric-dense and this song is no exception, combining metaphors and on-the-nose truths, and using unique harmonies and sound effects that emulate the atmosphere. This song was built from the bridge backwards, and although it is longer than she initially planned, it holds its own nicely before the second, sister single, drops.
