Today’s TRACK OF THE DAY is We Know Where The Bodies Are Buried by MASON
Previously part of alt-pop duo Outline, MASON featured on Spotify’s Indie Pop playlist, played the Isle of Wight festival, and wracked up half a million streams. Recently as a solo artist, she has been working on new music, and after the success of her debut single ‘Dearly Beloved’ we are now BLOWN AWAY with the sister single ‘We Know Where The Bodies Are Buried’ that was released today.
Originally from Brighton, and now circulating in the London scene, her music is dark, unique and hard-hitting. Her biggest influences are Billie Eilish, L Devine, Laura Marling, RAYE, CHINCHILLA & Labrinth.
When asked about the single Mason said: “It’s Charli XCX meets Billie Eilish, so if ‘Guess’ was grungy, basically.”
The same story told in her first single, but a completely different energy lyrically and sonically. Mason and her producer sampled the emotive harmonies at the end of ‘Dearly Beloved’ to make the beat, and they ran into one another seamlessly. According to MASON it was surprisingly hard to record, because it’s not in a specific key. The bridge/outro was MASON’s favourite to put together, it’s meant to sound like a panic attack and we couldn’t agree more!!
If you were lucky enough to secure tickets for MASON’s show tonight (31.01.25) then be prepared to be amazed as we always are!
