As an integral part of any song, lyrics act a way for artists to divulge their thoughts with listeners, but with so many songs out there, how can you be sure to hear all of these messages?

Today’s Waxing Lyrical With TWENTY6 dives into the lyrics of their song ‘Run Away’.

Loren gave us an insight into the lyrics’ story: ‘Alex starts making a song and then I vibe and get inspiration.
When I first heard this song it made me feel uplifted and motivated, runaway was the first thing that came to my head!
Like most people I’ve been in situations in life that didn’t make me happy…
It’s so easy to moan & accept things but in reality the only person who could do something about things in your life is yourself.
In my own experiences and with hindsight I would’ve changed things sooner rather than wasting precious time.
Hopefully people take that from Run away and end up making decisions that make their lives better, whether that be leaving the job you hate, getting out of that toxic relationship etc’

ABOUT TWENTY6: Alex Burkett, a music producer, and Loren Hannon, a singer-songwriter, met through chance in 2020. Within weeks of knowing each other their creativity blossomed showcasing that they were onto something unique and special. Within a year, Twenty6 was created and they delivered their first EP ‘Got You’, which springboarded things for them, as they went on to headline two London gigs and receive support from tastemakers including BBC introducing.
